Vaughan
September 11, 1943 – February 1, 2026
Terry "Teddy" Vaughan, 82, of Cross Lanes, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 1, 2026.
He was born on September 11, 1943, in Ivydale, to the late Ray and Glada Vaughan.
Terry graduated from Clay County High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was stationed at Fort Bragg as part of the 82nd Airborne. He retired from Union Carbide after more than 30 years of employment. He became a man of faith at Kingwood First Baptist Church, Houston, TX. He was a member at Cross Lanes Baptist Church where he was a deacon for over 20 years. For decades he led a new Christian class for children. He was an award winning fiddle player. He has accomplished so many things in his life, too numerous to list. He was a faithful servant to the Lord who was deeply loved by many.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene; son, Donald; sister, Jean; brothers, Roger, Larry, Richard, and James "Bimbo".
Terry is survived by his son, Terry (Rhonda); granddaughter, Amanda (Sachin); brothers, Garrett (Betty Jo), Harold (Robin); sisters, Gloria, Joyce (Charles), Shyrle (Dave), Sharon (Bill), and Jewel "Bubbles" (Mitchell).
A funeral service will be held at 12 pm on Thursday, February 5, at Cross Lanes Baptist Church, Cross Lanes, with Rev. Dr. Seth Polk officiating. Burial will follow in Hyre Family Cemetery, Duck.
Friends may visit from 6 to 8 pm on Wednesday, February 4, at Cross Lanes Baptist Church.
Arrangements are in the care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
