Terry Ray Walker, 47, of Dunbar, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2009, surrounded by his family and friends following a long battle with cancer.
He was a customer account manager with Wells Fargo TPA and was previously a long time employee of Marriott Hotels and Resorts. Before his illness, Terry was attending WV State University, working toward his Bachelor's Degree in Business. He loved traveling, cooking, watching movies with his family and he loved to crochet. Terry was a US Air Force veteran and was a native of Charleston. He had rededicated his life to Christ and gave his heart to his Lord.
Terry was preceded in death by his father, Henry Stewart Walker, by his maternal and paternal grandparents, and by his canine companion, Toy Boy.
He is survived by his mother, Patricia Walker of Dunbar; sister, Crystal Ann Walker of Dunbar; brothers, Larry Lee Walker and his wife, Mindy of Dunbar and Timothy S. Walker of Nitro; nieces Brookelyn and Madison and nephew, Andrew, all of Dunbar; nieces Jessica Walker and her three children of Nitro, Hannah Walker of Hurricane two nieces, Emily and Caylin of Charleston; aunts, Norma Campbell of Morgantown, Pat Legg of Charleston; a host of cousins and his best friend and "son" his dog Bruiser. He is also survived by his lifelong friends, Shanda Walker and Colleen Dixon Ghanem.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, January 21, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Pete Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Sissonville Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, January 20, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to family, friends, neighbors and co-workers who provided so much support during Terry's illness. A special thanks is extended to his Hospice nurse, Amanda.
