Theresa "JoAnne" McLaughlin Melton, 84, of Dunbar passed away on August 13, after a short illness.

Theresa was a lifelong resident of Roxalana Road in Dunbar. She was a graduate of Dunbar Union District High School, class of "51". Theresa loved getting together with her classmates at their reunions. She always loved life and loved helping others. She was the Rock of her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Stanley Carroll Melton; parents, Leslie McLaughlin and Virgie B Shawver McLaughlin; brothers, Ralph, Brooks, and Bob; sisters, Norma Jean Reed and Phyllis Owens.

Theresa is survived by her son, Larry Melton; daughters, Theresa "Terri" Stevens and Sherry Richardson and Mike; brother, Bill McLaughlin and Mary; sister-in-law, Leona "Cricket" McLaughlin; 7 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 2 great great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 17 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar. Burial will follow in Haven of Rest Memorial Gardens, Red House.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 16, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
