Thomas W. Desper Sr., 76, of Charleston, peacefully went to be with the Lord, Tuesday December 27, 2016, surrounded by his family.

Thomas was a supportive father, brother, uncle and a friend to everyone he met. Thomas served his country in the United States Army. He worked for the cities of Charleston and Dunbar and was an inspector for the SC Manufacturing Stamping Plant. He also worked security at WV State College.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Ruben and Edna Burton Desper; brothers, baby brother Desper, Paul, David and Joseph Desper; sisters, Betsy, Martha and Virginia Desper; and his sons, Tony Desper and Lee Twan.

He is survived by his children, Thomas Desper, Mark Desper and Tina (Desper) Law; sisters, Edna Barbee, Vivian Williams and Betty Williamson, several grandchildren and special cousin Robert Martin.

There will be a home going service Friday January 6, 2016 at Metropolitan Baptist Church at 1 p.m. A viewing will be held one hour prior at the church.
