Tim
Stewart
January 3, 1956 – June 29, 2018
Tim Stewart, 62, left this world peacefully on Friday, June 29, 2018.
He was born on January 3, 1956, in Charleston, to Glenn and Wonda Stewart.
He had been battling liver disease and many different conditions the last couple of years.
Tim was a Christian, husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, friend, football fan, movie fan, and Marine. Tim was a good man who didn't know a stranger. He would do anything for anyone at any time. Tim played football in school, joined the Marines, became an electrician, and worked at different electrical stores. He could be found fueling planes at Executive Air before a stroke in the summer of 2010 sidelined him. He and his son would go to the movies and various places until he was no longer able to transfer/stand on his own. He was proud of the fact that he got to see Marshall and WVU play on their home fields and visited the Football Hall of Fame. There is much more to be said about Tim Stewart but if you ever came in contact with him you already know what kind of man he was.
He is preceded in death by his father Glenn Stewart.
Tim is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Sally Rectenwald Stewart; sons, Matt Stewart and his son Tyler Stewart, Mark Lanham, whom he considered a son, and his wife Shelly and their children Storm and Ryan; mother, Wonda Armes Stewart; sister, Louise Stacy, and her daughter Kaitlyn; best friend, David Kinser, whom he considered a brother; and numerous uncles, aunts and friends.
A celebration of his life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 14, at Teays Valley Church of God.
Friends may visit 30 minutes prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Stewart family.
Arrangements are in the care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
