Timmie Ray Cook, of Sissonville, born Jan. 1, 1957 in Madison, died at home on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 after a long battle with cancer.
He was a 1974 graduate of Van High School in Van. Timmie attended Morris Harvey College in Charleston, where he studied horticulture and business. He was a member of the TKE fraternity. Timmie became a successful business owner with his partner, John Long. He was a member of the Sissonville Church of Christ.
Timmie was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Ferrell Cook Vanhoose; father, Orville Cook; step-father, Bill Vanhoose; brother, Terry Lee Cook; and grandparents, Arvel and Ruby Ferrell and Bob and Dela Cook.
He is survived by his aunt, Judy Ferrell Dempsey (Curtis) of Montevallo, Ala.; and his best friend and partner in business, John Long.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 11, at Sissonville Church of Christ with Minister Steve Poyet officiating.
