Titus I. "Jimmy" Thomas, Jr., gained his heavenly wings on May 18, 2023, in CAMC Hospice House after a long illness.
He was born July 4, 1936, to the late James T. and Isabell Barnette-Thomas in Charleston, where he was educated in Kanawha County Public Schools.
Titus was employed by the Office Service of the West Virginia Department of Transportation for 35 years until his retirement.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons; Titus Thomas III and Jimi Thomas; sisters, Ruth Fitzpatrick, Wanda Davis, Joan Green, Nancy Mosley, Julia Thomas, and Beulah Stevens and brothers; Robert, Bernie, and Terry Thomas.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Barbara Pegram-Thomas; daughters, Kimberly Thomas of Edgemoor, SC, Jacquelyn Thomas, Michelle Thomas, Valerie Thomas, Edna Green, Ruth (Higginbotham) Cosby, Cheryl Green, Tonya Clark all of Charleston, Karen Cooper of Atlanta GA, and Cyndy Heard (Gerald) of New Haven, CT; sons, Marvin L. Thomas (Denise), Irvin "Earl" Thomas, Robert Thomas, Norman Thomas all of Charleston, Michael Thomas of Jersey City, NJ; and one brother, Harry Thomas of Charleston; grandchildren, Shatae Thomas and Briana Thomas of Orlando, FL, Santana Thomas, Iva "Meechie" Monroe, William "BJ" Gregory, Sade Thomas, Richard Green, Jr., Chelsey Cosby, Courtney Cosby, Jamie Thomas, Chamear Triggs Davis, Walter "Tre" Clark (Jasmine), and Michael Clark all of Charleston, and Rikkinia Mullens (Mark) of Charlotte, NC; along with a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends. Also, left to mourn his passing is his special friend, Deborah "Debbie" Shoffner.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 3, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with Reverend Dr. Lloyd A. Hill officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, Charleston.
The family will receive visitors one hour prior the service.
A Repass Celebration will follow the burial at Father's House Missionary Baptist Church at
500 29th Street, West Charleston.
Arrangements are in the care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
