Trequan Darnell Chandler, also known as Tru was born on February 7, 2001, in Charleston, WV to Chyra Ellis and Brian Chandler. On May 19, 2025 Tre passed in a car accident, leaving behind cherished memories, and countless lives he touched by his vibrant life style.

Tre was a wonderful father, a devoted big brother, a loving cousin and uncle and a true friend. He attended The Restoration of Praise Temple, in Institute, WV, Pastor William "Duce" Lipscomb Jr.

Tre attended South Charleston High School in South Charleston, WV and later attained a GED.  He was a Union Worker skilled in contracting; completing several projects throughout his career.

Tre was a leader among his friends and dressed himself stylishly, like his father. He loved traveling around with his friends singing enjoying life.

Tre was preceded in death by his uncle, Alan Rogers (he called him Dad); grandad, Sefus Ellis; great-grandparents, Lowell and Barbara Smith and Thomas and Alberta Martin.

Tre is survived by his loving daughter, Josie Chandler; loving parents, Chyra Ellis and Brian Chandler; auntie/mom, Tonya Rogers; step-mother, Jessica Bryant; siblings, Tyara Ellis, Antonio Ellis, Tonyalan Rogers, Christopher McCorkle III, JaBrian Chandler, Kayana Chandler, Ayana Poole, Marlee Peyton; grandparents, Sojuana Ellis, David Green and Melvinia Chandler; six aunts and two uncles. Cherished friends include; Kaden B., Mark B., Daquan W., Dominique B., Davon W., and  Zeek & Malachi H.; and a host of cousins, extended family and friends who all loved him dearly.

Tre will be truly missed, but always remembered for his loving heart and our fond memories. He may be absent from our sight but never our hearts and minds!

A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, May 28 at Ferguson Baptist Church, 124 Marshall Ave., Dunbar, WV.  Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar.

Family and friends may gather one hour prior to the service at the church.

Arrangements are in the care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
