Troy Lee Byrd, of North Charleston, passed away on Monday, September 14, 2020 in Hospice House at CAMC Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.

He was married to his wife Carol for 47 years and was her sole and devoted care taker for many years.

Troy attended Maranatha Church and was the door greeter for several years. He never met a stranger. R.I.P. Troy.

He was retired from the U.S. Postal service and worked in the Rand and Kanawha City area. He was a proud U.S. Air Force and U.S. Marine veteran and served in Korea.

In addition to his wife, Troy is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Hunt and her mother, Gayle Thompson of North Carolina; and sister, Carol Toney (James) of Charleston.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, September 18, in Elk Hills Memorial Park.

Friends may visit from 1:30 to 2 p.m. at the cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice House at CAMC Memorial Hospital, 3200 MacCorkle Ave. SE, Charleston, WV 25304.
