Tyrus Campbell, 87, of South Charleston, passed away Sunday, December 17, 2006, in Thomas Memorial Hospital, South Charleston, after a brief illness.
He was born May 9, 1919 near Hazard, KY. He was retired from FMC Chemical Plant in South Charleston. He was a World War II Army veteran.
Preceding him in death were three sisters, and five brothers.
Tye is survived by his wife of 67 years, Grace Campbell; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Gene Raynes of South Charleston; son, Harold Campbell of Hurricane; two grandchildren, Derek and Jared Raynes of South Charleston; sister, Nancy Campbell of Greenfield, OH.
The celebration of Tye's life will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 19, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with Pastor Kenny Knotts and the Rev. John T. Hayes officiating. Burial will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.
