Obituary

With broken hearts, we share the unexpected passing of Vaughn Anthony Jarrett, who left us far too soon at the age of 57 at his home in Dunbar on April 7, 2025.

Though our hearts are heavy, we remember a life full of laughter, love, and light—and a man who never failed to bring joy to everyone around him.

He was born to Dallas Junior Jarrett and Ramona Mae Blaisdell on November 3, 1967.  Vaughn lived a life marked by quiet strength, boundless kindness, and an unwavering love for his family.  He was a devoted father, son, brother, uncle, grandfather, and friend—someone you could count on for anything, from a heartfelt conversation to a ridiculous joke that would have you laughing until your sides hurt.

To know Vaughn was to know joy.  He had a special talent for making people smile—whether through his goofy antics, silly faces, or witty one-liners.  Vaughn never minded being the one to break the ice of lighten the mood.  He loved making people laugh and always wanted others to be happy, often putting everyone else's needs before his own.  Vaughn never wanted people to worry about him, and that selfless nature said everything about the man he was.

Vaughn found comfort and fun in the simple things—binge watching his favorite TV shows, gaming late into the night, or doing both at the same time (a true multitasker).  Those who knew him best will remember the way he could turn an ordinary moment into something memorable, often through sheer silliness and love.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dallas; maternal grandparents, Otis R. And Nola R. Blaisdell; paternal grandparents, Dallas and Rosalee Jarrett; siblings, Dallas Jr. and Terry Jarrett; uncles, Edward, Otis W., and Matthew Blaisdell; aunts, Helen Jarrett, Marlene, Nola, and Zelma Blaisdell; cousin, Sharon Downs; and great-nephew, Koda Jarrett.

Vaughn is survived by his mother, Ramona; his brothers, Michael and Larry; his sisters, Sheila and Heather (Kyle); his beloved daughter, Allison (Lucas); his grandson, Rayden; nieces, Eden, Destinee, Preslee, Erin, Hope, and Melissa; nephews, TJ and DJ; along with many other cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.

Though Vaughn may no longer be with us in the physical sense, his laughter, kindness, and joy will forever echo in our hearts.  He was truly one of a kind, and the world is a little brighter for having known him

A private service will be held by family at a later date.

Arrangements are in the care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
