Velma Mae Hollyfield's Obituary
Velma Mae Hollyfield, 85, of Dunbar, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 for a reunion with her loved ones who are awaiting her arrival.
She was born in Raleigh County, WV, on October 4, 1927, the daughter of the late Fred Moody Canaday and Damie Alice Webb Canaday. Velma was preceded in death by her husband, Jay F. Hollyfield, her son, Jay F. Hollyfield, Jr., and by her daughter, Margaret Elaine Leslie Hollyfield.
She is survived by her sons, Don Hollyfield at home, Bill Hollyfield and his wife, Natalie of Charleston; one brother, Fred Canaday and his wife, Ann of Dunbar; one sister, Lakie Wood Clower and her husband, Bernard of Princeton, WV; daughter-in-law, Susan Hollyfield of Lynchburg, VA; and two granddaughters, Mindi Hollyfield of Myrtle Beach, SC and Meredith Hollyfield Eaker of Forest, VA.
Services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 2, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Phillip Shields officiating. Burial will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park.
Friends may call two hours prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
