Obituary

Vickie Marie Cain, of Dunbar, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at her home.

She was a devoted Christian, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and a recent great-grandmother.

She was a member of Nitro Church of the Nazarene.

Vickie helped start and co-owned the Boone County Ambulance Authority and continued on to do Home Health Care for many years. She was a devoted Army wife, who followed her husband around the world and took her final trip to follow him to Heaven, 6 months after his passing.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 30 years, Carl R. Cain; mother, Ernie Parks; father, Homer Parks; mother–in-law, Jean Cain; grandmother-in-law, Elsie Mundy; and her beautiful grandson, Bradley Allen Harrington.

Surviving are her daughters, Brandy Cohen of Dunbar, Sandra Workman of Dunbar, Tonya Stover (Husband, Brian Stover) of Tornado; brothers, Thomas Parks of South Carolina and Ronnie Parks of Madison; sisters, Carol Shreve of Madison and Dori Hyre of Madison; grandchildren, Amber Cain, Tyler Cain, Shai Pratt, Hannah Gibson, Cody Gibson, Savannah Ward, Lilliana Harrington, Meadow Stover, Ivy Stover, Bryan K. Stover II, Brittany Stover, Cassidy Stover; great-grandson, Derick Long; father-in-law, Carl B. Cain; sisters-in-law, Connie Hudson and Ashley Cain; and was mom and grandma to so many that loved her. She had many lifelong friends and family. She will be greatly missed by all.

Services will be held at 3 pm on Saturday, April 5 at Nitro Church of the Nazarene, Nitro with Pastor David Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar.

Friends may call 6 to 8 pm on Friday, April 4 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
