Violet L. "Ninny" Shaffer 84, of Charleston went home to be with the Lord and her loving husband on Tuesday, February 12, 2008.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville Shaffer and grandchild, Dannie Shaffer.

She is survived by her daughter, Martinea Taylor of Charleston; grandchildren, Orville Taylor, Elizabeth Starcher and Robin Burdette of Charleston, Matthew Taylor and Todd Taylor of Elkview, and Pennie Rider of Dunbar; 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; sister, Josephine King of Spring Hill and brother, Rosco Thaxton of Sissonville.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I would walk right up to Heaven and bring you home again. Though the pain in our heart is over whelming at this time, knowing you're in Heaven and out of pain brings peace to our mind. You'll be greatly missed our beloved Ninny, until we should meet and never part again.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, February 15, 2008 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
