Virginia Jane Mynes Newhouse "Janie",70, passed away on September 8, 2025. Now at peace, she will forever be remembered.

Janie was born September 2, 1955 to the late Herman and Byrel Mynes.  She grew up in South Charleston and graduated from South Charleston High School in 1973. She resided in Dunbar and retired from Kroger after 44 years.

Janie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend. She loved spending time with her family and her many lifelong friends whom she enjoyed staying in touch with throughout the years. She often reminisced and shared stories of her life experiences from childhood, high school, bowling leagues, Kroger and raising her children. She will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Newhouse; her sisters, Judith "Judy" Mynes Schultz (Dewey) and Julia "Elaine" Crockett (Jimmy).

She is survived by her daughter, Lori Jo Cobb (Patrick); son, Larry Alan Newhouse; and her only grandchild, Carter Jacob Cobb, whom she loved so much and was so proud to be his Mawmaw.

She will be missed by her friends and family who she greatly cared for and enjoyed making memories with throughout her life time.

Per her wishes she will be cremated.

A memorial service will be held for both Janie and Larry Newhouse at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 10, 2025 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.  Inurnment for Larry will follow in Donal C. Kinnard State Veteran's Cemetery.  The inurnment for Janie will then take place in Sunset Memorial Park.
