Leah Virginia "Ginny" Lytton, 89, of Dunbar, passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2015.
She graduated Cum Laude from Morris Harvey College and was a dedicated elementary school teacher for many years in the Dunbar area.
Ginny was a life-long member of Dunbar United Methodist Church. She loved to play bridge and was a member of the Dunbar Wednesday Bridge Club and the Dunbar Woman's Club. She spent many hours creating beautiful handiwork during her life. She was a Hospice volunteer and a participant in the Red Hat Ladies. Over the past few years Ginny was a resident of Edgewood Summit and made many new friends while she was there.
Although she was widowed at a young age she was a strong, amazing woman who dedicated her life to her children.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Curtis Kessell and Tressie Myrtle Kessell; husband, Kermit Clair Lytton; and beloved son,
Gregory Allen Lytton
.
Ginny is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Clair "Cindie" Riggs; son-in-law, David "Tony" Riggs; dear sisters, Fay Jack and Jean Ann Nisbet; special niece, Bonnie Rowley; and other nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 30 at Dunbar United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Okey B. Harless officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in Ginny's memory to Dunbar United Methodist Church, 1401 Myers Ave, Dunbar, WV 25064.
