Obituary

Virginia "Jenny" Maye Carpenter, 61, of Charleston, WV, passed away of lung cancer on February 13, 2025 at Thomas Memorial Hospital.

She was born on November 8, 1963, to the late Louis Isaac and Kay Fannin.

Jenny attended Buffalo High School and worked in retail, most recently at a grocery store, and was a devoted daughter, sister, mother and grandmother. Jenny enjoyed several hobbies, perhaps most especially was her artistry with ceramics where she spent many years painting beautiful ceramics that she displayed and gave away as gifts. While such things were her hobbies, Virginia's largest passion in life was her children and grandchildren. She was always eager for an opportunity to hear from her children on the phone, to attend a grandchild's sporting event, to celebrate her child's graduation, or to wish a grandchild happy birthday. These, and so many more, experiences in the future will greatly miss her presence, her generous laughter, her kindness and her loving spirit.

She is survived by her mother, Kay; her sister, Lisa; her children, Ricky, Anthony, and Brandi; as well as her grandchildren, David, Michael, Brandon, Jaxon, and Lilly.

She will be honored during a memorial service on at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.

Family will welcome friends one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.

In lieu of flowers, family and friends are welcome to donate to the American Cancer Society (cancer.org/donate).
