Virginia Slate, 76, of Red House, passed away on Monday, May 4, 2020.

She was known as a hard worker and a very giving person. Virginia was a loving grandmother and cherished her time with them. She was a former employee at Classic Shoe Store in Dunbar, Riverside Nursing Home, St. Albans, and Graziano's Pizza in Charleston. She will be missed by all that knew her.

Virginia was preceded in death by her daughter, Robin Lynn Summers; son, Mark Todd Summers; parents, James Herbert and Mary Marie Nida; brother, Perry Nida; sisters, Connie Woodyard, Beulah Barker, Becky Stover, Kathy Nida, Marilyn Nida.

She is survived by her son, Ishmael Summers; daughter, Melissa Barnett; grandsons, James Barnett II and Connor Barnett; brother, Jimmy Nida and wife Kay; sister, Bonnie Harper; and brother-in-law, Lester Stover.

Due to COVID-19 pandemic, a graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 8 in Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar. family and friends are welcome to attend.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Putnam Aging, 2558 Winfield Rd, St. Albans, WV 25177.
