Wanda "Gangy" Ellen Douglas Myers of Dunbar passed away peacefully on April 21, 2013.
Wanda was a graduate of East Bank High School and retired from Union Carbide. She was a devoted member of Dunbar First Baptist Church for 40 years, where she taught Sunday School, worked with the children's choirs, and sang with her own beautiful voice. She enjoyed volunteering her time at the Bridgeview Elementary Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marshall Alexander Douglas and Lucille Ellen Lewis Douglas.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry L. Myers; daughter, Amanda Ellen Myers Clark and husband Craig; son, Christopher L. Myers and wife Heather; brother, Glenn Douglas and wife Mary; grandchildren, Savanna, Noah, Corey Clark and Jamie and Jayne Myers; nephew, Mark Douglas; niece, Lisa Robinson; special cousins, Maxine Birt, Joann Angle, Vicky Arvidson, and Julie Holstein; and special friend, Jacqueline Powers.
A visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 25, at First Baptist Church of Dunbar.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 26, at First Baptist Church of Dunbar with Rev. Phil Shields officiating. Entombment will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.
Wanda's life was filled with laughter, love, joy, and service to others.
