Wanda Fay (Shirkey) Wilson, 83, of Charleston, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on July 11, 2025.

She was born on July 18, 1941 to the late Winfred and Anna Shirkey of Kanawha County.

Wanda retired as head cook of the Corner Restaurant in Charleston. Her joy, however, was the "work" she did baby-sitting many young ones over the years. Each one touched her heart. She was a great cook, cared deeply about her family and friends and was a constant in our lives. She will be deeply missed.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 70 years, Claude Wilson in 2023. She was the last surviving daughter of 11 children her parents raised.

Wanda is survived by her children, James "Jimbo" Wilson (Kathy), Mary Ann Myers (Jeff), Claude Ray Wilson, Brenda Wilson, and Thomas "Tommy" Wilson; grandchildren, Wayne Richards (Candace), Patricia Facemyer, Stacy Britton (Eric), Jim "Brad" Wilson, Crystal White (Perry), and John Thomas "JT" Wilson. She also leaves behind much loved great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 15, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with Pastor David Keeney officiating. Burial will follow in Wilson Cemetery, Dunbar.

Friends may visit one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
