Wanda E. Wickline, entered into her heavenly home on April 9, 2015, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. A resident of Myrtle Beach, since 2012, Wanda was a former resident of Dunbar, West Virginia, for 60 years.
She was born on July 19, 1922, in Carter County, Kentucky, to Velmer H. and Ruth Francis Fields Savage. Wanda spent her early life in Ashland, Kentucky, and during WWII, relocated to Baltimore, MD, where met her husband, W. Otis Wickline, during the war effort. Wanda was employed at various department stores in Dunbar, which included Catherine's, from where she retired. Due to her declining health, Wanda resided with her daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and Greg Loftis, since 2006. Formerly a member of Fairlawn Baptist Church, Wanda most recently joined in membership with Risen Christ Lutheran Church, Myrtle Beach, SC. She was preceded in death by her husband and one brother, Gerald Savage.
Mrs. Wickline is survived by her children: John M. Wickline (Annette), of Sydney, Australia; Anne W. Alexander (Eugene) of Easley, SC.; and Ruth (Greg) Loftis, of Myrtle Beach, SC, along with two grandsons, three granddaughters and five great grandchildren, residing in Australia, Norway, England, Texas and South Carolina.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be a two hour visitation with the family at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, on Wednesday, April 15, 2015, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a private graveside service for the family at a later date, officiated by the Reverend Harold B. White, Jr.
The family would like to thank the following individuals whom provided loving care to Wanda in the last years of her life: Velma Jean Horne and Ruth Ellis of St. Albans, WV, and Fonda Jones, in Myrtle Beach. In lieu of flowers, the family would suggest a donation to Beacon Hospice, Murrell's Inlet, SC, 3959 Hwy 17 Bypass, Suite D, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576, who so compassionately and lovingly cared for Wanda during her last days with us.
