Wandel Ray Mullins, 77 of Dunbar, went home to be with Jesus Friday December 19, 2014.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Catherine Mullins, one brother, five sisters, and one son.
Wandel worked as a mechanic at Jack Cambell's Colonial Exxon for 45 years. He sang with Magic Valley Quartet for many years. He also sang in the praise and worship team at Living Faith Worship Center for 10 years. He loved to fish.
He was a Christian and attended Revival Worship Center.
He was a loving husband, a wonderful father, and precious grandfather and great-grandfather.
The family would like to give special thanks to the nurses, especially Brandon, on 4 North for the love and care they showed Wandel.
Wandel is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Norma; sons, Ray (Tina), Howard (Betty), Timmy, and Chuck Barefield; daughters, Joann (James) Paxton, and Tina Barefield; grandson whom he thought of as a son, Joshua (Stephanie)Barefield; sisters, Eloise (Harold) Ball, and Naomi (John) Short, special nephew, Danny (Eva) Mullins. He is also survived by 16 grand-children, and five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Homegoing service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, December 22, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with Pastors, James Wright, Jamie Wright, and Harley Cline officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar.
Family and friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, December 21, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
