Obituary

Wilbur "Keith" Whitten, 85, died on Thursday, January 22, 2026.  He went to sleep that morning and woke up with his Savior a moment later.

He was born on August 5, 1940, to the late Wilbur Ikle and Gladys Curry Whitten.

Keith was a proud Navy Veteran serving for 8 years. He was retired from GMC Auto in Detroit after 30 years, and was a member of Roxalana Gospel Tabernacle for over 20 years.

In addition to his parents, Keith was preceded in death by his sister, Sue Sizemore of MI; his niece, Lisa Boreren of MI; his son, Berry Whitten of LA; his daughter, Sonya Flegal of MI; and his brother, Maywood Williams of WV.

Left to remember Keith are his wife, Connie Whitten; his son, Bret Snyder (Cathy) of FL; his daughters, Denise Wenk and Rachel Day (David) both of MI; his step-son, Anthony Baldwin (Jamie) of WV; his eight grandchildren, Bret Lee Snyder of FL, Jacob Snyder of FL, Charie Snyder of FL, Michael Wenk of MI, Abbey Sabo (Sean) of MI, Alex Flegal of MI, Sarah Flegal of MI, and Nicole Whitten; two step-granddaughters, Toni Baldwin (TJ) of WV and Shayla Baldwin of MI; three great-grandchildren, Penelope Snyder of FL, Tyler Wenk and Elizabeth Wenk both MI; and his one step great-granddaughter, Kayle Bickford.

I would like to send out a special thank you to his two great doctors, Dr. Jullian Espirtu and Dr. Joanna Stover, and of course, Hospice.  When they took over, it was a great relief.  To my son, Anthony, for all of his help when I needed him the most.  To Albert Runyan for his gentle care, kind ways and all the help he gave.  Now another special friend who has been through it all with us, Norma Roberts.  I can't thank any of them enough.
