William C. Martin, 93, of Mt. Lookout, formerly of Charleston, went home to be with the Lord on October 29, 2014, with his wife and children by his side.

He was born March 9, 1921, in Charleston, son of the late Oather and Vertie Martin. William was a manager with the Kroger Company for over 30 years; he left the Kroger Company and was the owner/manager of the Fas-Chek Supermarket on Sissonville Drive for 15 years.

In addition to his parents and step-father, James Brown, William was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Opal; son, William (Curtis); brothers, Carl and Kenneth; sister, Virginia Ferrell.

He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Georgia Lanham; sons, John Martin (Connie) and Robert Martin (Gail); daughter, Janice McMillen (Aaron); daughter-in-law, Diana Martin; stepchildren, David Brogan (Kitty), Stanley Brogan (Bev), Charles Brogan (Debbie), Dewayne Brogan (Andrea), Rebecca Raines (Clarence), Karen Bennett (Russell), April Brogan, Sherry McClung (George); 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren, 21 step-grandchildren; 24 step great-grandchildren; brother, Ray; sister, Mary Ann McMillen (Elbert).

Funeral services will be 4 p.m. on Sunday, November 2, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with the Rev. Frank Goff officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.

Family and friends may call two hours prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
