He was a retired chemist for Union Carbide and was a US Army Air Corps veteran of WW II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Catlette .

Surviving are his sons, William H. "Bill" Catlette, Jr. of Collierville, TN and Jim Catlette of Washington, DC; grandchildren, Will Catlette of Savannah, GA, Kristi Shea of Mobile, AL; great grandchildren, Isaac Lay, Kadyn and Kinsley Shea.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, February 22, at the First Presbyterian Church, South Charleston, with the Rev. Gary McGrew officiating.

The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 1111 Lee Street, E., Charleston, WV 25301.
