William "Bill" Fleming Chittum, 78, died January 19, 2009 at the Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston.
He was born January 15, 1931 at South Charleston to Mattie Jane Mallory Chittum and Earnest Chittum.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Charlotte Vineyard Chittum and his second wife, Shirley Hannah Chittum; sisters, Grace Snyder and Norma Eggleton; brothers, Gordon Chittum and Howard Chittum.
He is survived by his daughter, Dorinda Hennings of Georgia and two grandchildren; sister, Nellie Jane Hickman of Saint Albans and several nephews and nieces.
Bill was a construction worker and helped construct several interstate natural gas pipelines throughout the United States. He was a member of the Abney Street Church of God in Saint Albans.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, January 23, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar. Burial will follow in Cobbs-Bailey Cemetery.
