William Franklin "Frank" Pleasants, 81, of Dunbar, passed away on January 22, 2015 at Hubbard Hospice House West.
He was born on March 7, 1933, the son of the late George & Gladys Pleasants.
Frank graduated from Dunbar High School in 1952. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict; he retired from Union Carbide/Rhone Poulenc in Institute. After retirement Frank started helping people around Dunbar as a handyman and with their plumbing needs with Walt Ranson and Ike Riley.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Paul and Ernest; and sisters, Jeannie Thudium, Enid Henson, Mary Eula Shauver-Misura, Dorothy Williams and Louise Bush.
Frank is survived by his wife of 58 years, Willadean; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Mike Short of Silver Springs, FL; grandson, Chris Ryan of Dunbar; granddaughter, Amy Ryan of Pratt; two great-grandchildren, Brelan and Jaylynn Lanham; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 27, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with Rev. David Bush officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar.
