William Thomas Hackworth, 83, of Charleston, passed away at the Grand Strand Hospital, Myrtle Beach, SC, on Saturday, October 23, 2010, after a short illness.
He was the founder of Dunbar Printing Company in 1958 and was a US Marine Corps veteran of WW II and the Korean Conflict. Mr. Hackworth was a graduate of Charleston High School and was a member of the Dunbar Masonic Lodge #159, the Beni Kedem Shrine, the Shrine Clowns, Flying Fezzes, the Royal Order of Jesters, the Elks Lodge #202 and the Dunbar Lions Club.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Eleanor Delores Dodd, who passed away in 1974 and Patty Pyecha who passed away in 2009 and by his parents, William N. and Gladys Hackworth.
Surviving are his children, Larry Wayne Hackworth and his wife, Sandra of Cross Lanes and Deborah Lynn Frontz and her husband, Rick of Nitro. Also surviving are grandchildren, Jeannie Leann Mills of Dunbar, Erik Brando Frontz and Tracey Renee Humphreys of Dunbar; great grandchildren, Lakyn Mae Frontz, Allison Grace Mills, Joshua Aaron Mills and Dylan Allen Humphreys. He will be sadly missed by family, friends and his beloved dog, "Coco."
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, October 30, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Doyle D. Smith officiating. Entombment with Masonic Rites will be in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m., Friday, October 29, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, where there will be Scottish Rite Service at 7:30 p.m.
