Obituary

Bill Allen Johnson, 77, of South Charleston, passed away unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, February 27, 2013.

Bill was born on August 18, 1935, and was the son of Kirk Allen Johnson and Margaret Johnson Jameson. He was raised from infancy by his grandparents, Rollie and Mamie Hudson.

He is survived by his brother, Henry (Ramona) Clark of Raceland, KY; nieces, Robin Landa of Gainesville, FL, Cindy McNealy of South Charleston, Amy Jo Riffee of Hurricane; and several cousins with whom he was very close.

He was preceded in death by both parents, grandparents, and one sister Irene Riffee (Hermon) all of South Charleston.

Bill was a happy and jolly person all his life and was well known by people in the business section of South Charleston and many friends and neighbors at Kenna Homes; where he resided the last 18 years of his life. Bill was outgoing, friendly, and liked to talk to everyone he met. Bill took great pride in walking around the South Charleston area. He was even known to walk to the Town Center Mall in Charleston. He was a fan of the South Charleston Black Eagles and the WV Mountaineers. He had a special place in his heart for all children. Bill was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

The family wishes to express their sincerest gratitude to cousins Donna and Steve Mullins, Jim Hudson, and the members of Spring Hill Church of Christ for all their help looking after Bill and ensuring that he could maintain his independence after his mother, Margaret Jameson; aunt, Elsie McCallister; and grandmother, Mary (Mamie) Hudson passed away.

A graveside service will be held at noon Tuesday, March 5, at Cunningham Memorial Park's Lower Mausoleum Chapel, St. Albans.

Friends and family will gather at the cemetery at 11:30 a.m.

Arrangements are in care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.

The family appreciates everyone who made Bill's life a happy one.
