Obituary

William H. "Bill" Lucas, 89, of Charleston went home to be with the Lord and his loving wife on December 30, 2016 after a sudden illness.

He was born on December 26, 1927 in Blair to the late Grady and Grady Maxine Lucas. Bill served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the Pacific. He was retired from Central Distributing and was a member of Teamsters Local #175 Retirees. Bill was a member of Dunbar First Baptist Church. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by the love of his life, Billie E. Lucas; and brothers, Harry W. Lucas and James E. Lucas both were also WWII Veterans.

He is survived by his children, Larry A. Lucas, Dale Lucas (Christy), Judy Lucas Darnall, and William E. Lucas (Debra); eight grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 4 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with Rev. Jason Quintrell and Rev. Larry McCallister officiating. Burial will be held at Floral Hills Garden of Memories.

A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 3 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
