William "Keith"
Mccormick
September 26, 1948 – November 11, 2025
William "Keith" McCormick, 77, of St. Albans, WV went home to be with our Heavenly Father on November 11, 2025, after a long battle with Parkinson's.
He was born on September 26, 1948, in Garretts Bend, WV to Pauline E. Tackett-McCormick and Billy Keith McCormick. He was raised in the Baptist faith and baptized in the Coal River near Lower Falls Baptist Church in St. Albans, WV.
Keith was a 1966 graduate of St. Albans High School. After high school, he joined the United States Navy where he served on the USS Saratoga in the Mediterranean, Vietnam and Cuba. Over the years, he held many jobs from construction worker, welder/boiler maker (Carbide & FMC), truck driver (Peerless Block among others), and he retired from Capital City Auction where he "ran the yard".
He went through life with a smile on his face and never met a stranger. He loved to make people laugh and could tell great stories. He was passionate about his family, both human and furry, who gave him so much companionship and joy.
Keith was preceded in death by his parents, Pauline E. Tackett-McCormick and Billy Keith McCormick; his sisters, Diana Sue McCormick, Judith Ann McCormick, and Deborah Jean McCormick Robinson Holmes; along with his wife, Debra K. McCormick.
He is survived by his daughter, Connie J. Watson (John) of St. Albans; his sons, Daniel W. McCormick (Jami) of Florida and Dakota S. Roberts-McCormick of St. Albans; his stepdaughter, Joyce Duppstadt (Rob) of Cross Lanes; his five grandchildren, Brandon Duppstadt (Jessica) of St. Albans, Kaley Hobbs (Bub) of Charleston, Ashlee McCormick of Florida, Ryan Dlugos of St. Albans and Brooke McCormick of Florida; his four great grandchildren, Michael, Cameron and Destinee Hobbs of Charleston and Dixie Duppstadt of St. Albans; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
We would like to thank all his wonderful caregivers over the past year from the staff at WVU Medicine Thomas Memorial Hospital, Riverside Valley Nursing/Rehabilitation, and In-Home Hospice Care.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 24, 2025 in Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery with Pastor John Nelson officiating.
Arrangements are in the care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
