William C. "Bill" Stark, 75, of Dunbar, passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2009, at Hubbard Hospice House.

He was a retired police officer for the Charleston Police Department with 27 years of service. Bill was a member of the Charleston Mountain Mission and the Fraternal Order of Police.

Surviving are his wife, Sharon Stark; daughters, Sheryl Stark and Deborah J. Mallett of Dunbar; step-son, Herschel Thomas of West Union; grandchildren, Rachel Smith and her husband, Opie and Seth A. Mallett, all of Dunbar.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, October 25 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Fairley McCormick officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park.
