Woodrow G. Baldwin, 93, of Charleston, passed away Monday, September 28, 2009.
He was born on June 28, 1916 in Charleston.
He was preceded in death by his wife Belva; parents, Daniel and Minnie Baldwin; brothers, Wilbur, Dave and Dallas; sisters, Esther Hunt, and Clella Brown all of Charleston and Macel Brown of St. Albans.
He is survived by one daughter, Sharon Staton and husband Joe of Winston Salem, NC; one son, Dana and wife Nancy of Charleston; four grandchildren, Connie Baldwin serving with the US Army in Afghanistan, Deborah Tweedt of Tacoma, WA, John and J. Reid Staton both of Raleigh, NC. He is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren.
Woodrow worked as Manager for the A & P for 42 years. He also worked in the hardware business for 3 years then worked for Gilmer's Grocery in Chelyan for 18 years. He retired at age 80.
He was a member of Northside Church of the Nazarene.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, October 1, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with the Rev. Jerry Cline officiating. Interment will follow in Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, September 30, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
