Lt. Woodrow Franklin Barker, Sr., 84, of Dunbar, passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2006 in Hubbard Hospice House, after a short illness.
Mr. Barker retired from Charleston Police Department with the rank of Lieutenant. He was a member of Capitol City FOP Lodge 74. Woodrow was a Christian and attended Trinity Baptist Church, Ruthlawn.
Lt. Barker is survived by his wife, Barbara Ellen Conway Barker; son and daughter-in-law, Frank Barker, Jr. and Carolyn of Charleston; stepson and his wife, James A. Boggess, Jr. and Cindy of Yucca, AZ; stepdaughter, Shirley McDerment of Columbus, OH; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
The graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, April 7, at Barker Cemetery, Ashford, with the Rev. Gene Pauley officiating.
Friends may call from 12 to 1:30 p.m., Friday, April 7, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar. The procession will leave the funeral home at 1:30 p.m.
