Yolanda Alma
Voncannon
May 31, 1961 – April 22, 2020
Yolanda Alma Moore Settle VonCannon, 58, of St. Albans, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2020 at home of multiple illness' that she has battled for many years.
Mom was admired by all that met her, particularly children, she loved to smile and laugh, but never forgot family and friends giving even down to her last cent. Her daughter, two granddaughters, and great granddaughter were the apple of her eyes.
One of my memories was of a family holiday dinner that I decided to make, it was my first dinner all by myself, to watch mom eat like she had never ate before but later to call upstairs, "Where's the beets." She loved making memories. Mom was a very thoughtful and sentimental individual. While going through her things we found a coloring menu mat that her youngest granddaughter had colored at Bob Evans, just as if it were a DaVinci Masterpiece, and to mom it truly was.
Mom had many talents and was never afraid to try her hand at anything. In her much younger years, she assisted in Nursing/Rehab Centers, to then move on to In Home Health, and finally settled down to the totally opposite end of the spectrum, she became the Proprietor of Dent Doctor of North Carolina. Like I said, she was very loved by many and developed her talents throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joey VonCanon; mother, Ruby Mae Settle Moore; father, Dorcel Ralph Moore; grandparents, Alma R. Justice Settle and Eugene McDonald Settle; brother, Gregory Eugene Moore Settle; niece, Melissa M. Settle; and nephew, Brian Owens.
Left behind to miss her vivacious spirit and mourn her passing is daughter, Michelle L. Eads Burford; granddaughters, Kristen Faith Burford and Tija Linnae Campbell; great-granddaughter, Kinslea Michelle Burt; half-sisters, Charlotte Moore Hopkins and Loretta Moore Ducy; her precious companion fur baby, Bubbles; and many other family and friends.
Family and friends will be gathering outdoors at a little later date to celebrate her life.
Arrangements are in the care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
