Yvonne Adell Russell, 74, of Charleston, WV passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 8, 2026, surrounded by her family.

Yvonne was born on February 25, 1951 to the late Garold Wilmoth and Lorna Stalnaker.

She worked as a custodian for the Kanawha County School board for over 30 years; primarily working at Andrew Jackson Junior High, Oakwood Elementary and Rand Elementary Schools.  In her early years, she worked as a Nurses Aid at CAMC in the Surgery Depart; although she did not continue her nursing career, she truly enjoyed it and spoke of it often.

Yvonne was so fun loving and had such a kind nature; she always had a few jokes to tell and loved being silly to get a laugh!  She was truly loved by all who came in contact with her, and she loved her family with all of her heart.  She didn't mind telling each of them, "I love you more!"

She loved to travel, there isn't anywhere she wouldn't go and no adventure she would turn down!  She thoroughly enjoyed sports as well; watching college and NFL football (Go WVU and the Cowboys!).  She loved, not only watching Nascar, she enjoyed attending races as well; with Dale Earnhardt being her favorite driver of all time!

In her spare time, Yvonne enjoyed playing card games.  She relaxed by reading books an in her younger years, she and her husband were avid outdoorsmen; frequently going hunting and fishing.

Yvonne is leaving a legacy of love and laughter.  She taught us unconditional love and the importance of family.  She was definitely a beacon of strength and resilience.  Yvonne dedicated her life to nurturing her whole family; she was our rock!  Her determination and compassionate spirit touched us all!  She will forever be in our hearts and will be remembered for her deep devotion to all those she loved.

In addition to her parents, Yvonne was preceded in death by her husband, Gearry Russell.

Yvonne is survived by her children, Rodney Moore (Brandi), Tammy Hill (Dwayne), and Erika Oxley; her four grandchildren, Jeremy Brown (India), Sierra Gibson (Dennis), Chase Moore (Caitlyn), and Madisyn Oxley-Murray (Blake); her four great-grandchildren, Lilly'Ana and Theodore Brown, Cameron and Dawson Gibson with one additional baby girl on the way; her beloved fur baby, Gigi; her brother, Craig Wilmoth; and her sisters, Bonnie Lovejoy and Trena Mullins (Jim); along with countless other family members and friends whom she dearly loved.

Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with Pastor Mike Long officiating.

Family will welcome visitors one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
