Yvonne VanDeuren Workman, 72, of St. Albans, went home to be with the Lord on February 17, 2020, after a long battle with COPD and diabetes. She was surrounded by her family and friends.

She was born on June 10, 1947 in Charleston to the late Edward and Wilma VanDeuren.

She received her nursing degree from Morris Harvey College in 1970. Yvonne worked her whole career at Thomas Memorial Hospital in the Intensive Care Unit. She retired in December of 2009.

Yvonne is survived by her daughters, Mareda (Jonathan) Booker and Rachel (Charlie) Workman; grandchildren, Kanisha and Xavier Booker, and Jesse Workman; great-grandson, Gavin Workman; brother, Edward VanDeuren, who recently moved back from South Dakota to be with her; lifelong family friend, Ronald Oxley; and her beloved dog, Pope.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, February 21, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with Pastor Letari Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.

Friends may visit one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
