Danny "Hoss" Blackhurst, 57, of St. Albans, won his race with his loving wife, Dee, by his side early Saturday morning, October 7, 2017 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Danny was born June 5, 1960 the son of Ray F. and Gloria Marlene Estep Blackhurst. He was a faithful member of Red Oak Community Church where he served as song leader and taught Sunday school. He graduated from WV State University with a Bachelor's Degree in History. Danny was a sales consultant for Love's Toyota and was also employed by Red Cross, Cross Lanes. He was voted as WVU Mountaineers' biggest fan and his son, Adam, ran a close second.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Gloria Blackhurst; and brother, Ray Backhurst, Jr.

Danny is survived by his father, Ray F. Blackhurst of St. Albans; his loving wife, Dee Blackhurst of St. Albans; children, Noah Daniel Blackhurst of Hurricane, Adam Bonecutter and wife, Sarah, of Kenna and Kala Bonecutter of Charleston; two brothers, Tim Blackhurst of Dunbar and Randy Blackhurst and wife, Chris, of Raleigh, NC; three grandchildren, Clayton, Callie and Owen Bonecutter; and his loyal companion, Bandit.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, October 14, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with Pastor Victor Keathley officiating.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
