Donald Lee Painter, 91 of Given, WV entered his Heavenly home on Monday, June 19, 2023.

He was born on June 25, 1931 in Dunbar.  Donald was a loving husband, dad, grandpa, and great-grandpa. He dearly loved his family and was a wonderful Christian example to all.

He was a retired electrical contractor and owner of Superior Electric Company of Nitro. Donald was an active member of Teays Valley Church of God.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Shirley and Mable Painter of  Dunbar; sisters, Doris Beasley and Shirley Kinder; and his beloved granddaughter, Christina Britton.

Donald is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Helen L. Painter; children, Don Painter (Susan), Debbie Painter (Steve Willis), Mark Painter (Darcia); six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 22 at Teays Valley Church of God, Scott Depot, with Reverend Harold Goodpaster officiating.  Burial will follow in Emma Chapel Cemetery, Liberty.

Friends may visit 2 hours prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Hubbard Hospice House, 1001 Curtis Price Way, Charleston, WV 25311.  A special thanks to all the staff at Hubbard Hospice House for their kindness, and wonderful care.
